The official ground breaking and foundation laying ceremonies for the establishment of Sweet Sorghum (feedstock) production farm, ethanol refinery complex and the Life Camp by His Excellency Dr. Olusegun Kokumo Agagu, the executive Governor of Ondo state Nigeria at Arigidi - Akoko on the 25th February, 2008.

The ceremonies were witnessed by our able public, private sector partners, dignitaries, investors,land owners, top government officials, the NNPC officials royal highnesses and the entire good people of Arigidi Akoko.

After the arrival of the Ondo State Executive Council and the distinguised guests, the MD/CEO of Global Biofuels Ltd (Dr) Otunba Felix B. Obada gave the welcome address. In his address he briefly enunciated, the global warming and the general effect to the whole world and the catastrophic effect to the human race. The stated that the company Global Biofuels Ltd. is established to assists in reducing the effect of global warming and to create more job opportunities to the community and the entire Nigeria nation. The Chairman, Global Biofuels Ltd, Chief (Dr.) J. O. Sanusi gave his welcome address. He further stated the benefit of the project “This Ceremony is just the beginning of an exciting trip that will eventually lead to the establishment of similar farms and refineries in a total of seven (7) states of the Federation”. The Feedstock Production Group Coordinator and Head of the Global Biofuels Ltd, Prof. A.B Obilana gave his welcome address and elucidated more on the significance of using sweet sorghum as an alternative renewable energy source to stem the global warming. "“From Sweet Sorghum (a renewable bio-energy feedstock) to Ethanol for Blending with Petrol as Gasohol for consumption by normal vehicles –to reduce global warming” More.
