Prince Christopher A. Latunde (Director).

 

Sir (Prince) Christophe Abiodun Latunde Sir (Prince) Christopher Abiodun Latunde is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Castlat Nigeria Limited. He was born into a royal family with a Christian background in Ikare, Ondo State.

He attended the popular Victory College, Ikare -Akoko and Ise-Emure Grammar Scholl, Ekiti between 1961 and 1965.

He holds a Bachelor and master Degrees in Business Administration from Murray State University, Kentucky and Long Island University, New York, USA. He has working experience in marketing of both visible and invisible products. In fact, his job records are very tall, spanning continental boundaries. He started as Assistant Manager, Conrad Food and Liquor Stores, Chicago in 1972 and moved on to Hearns Department Stores, Bronx New York in 1974 as a Sales Manager.

He joined Equitable Life Assurance Society of USA in 1975 and rose to the position of District Manger. Through with his US sojourn, Prince Latunde came home to roost. In 1976, he joined the then Postal Department of the Federal Ministry of Communications as Senior Postal Controller. He moved to SCOA in 1977 and rose to the position of General Sales Manager, a position he held till he retired to kick start CASTLAT in 1985.

Sir (Prince) Latunde is a member of Nigerian Marketing Association, American Marketing Association, Rotary International and Young Men Christian Association (YMCA). Member, Institute of Director(IOD), Member, the Nigeria Association Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (NACCIMA), Member, Solid Minerals Policy Commission (Nigerian Economic Summit Group) and Member, Nigerian Egypt Chamber of Commerce.

A Knight of St. Christopher by Etsako Missionary Diocese - Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Sir (Prince) Latunde is a man imbued with large hearts. Some of his philanthropic activities amongst others are:-

  • Donation of 18-bedroom property on two plot of land at Ejigbo, Lagos State to SOS Village, Isolo.
  • Donation of Ultra Modern Multi-purpose Hall to St. Thomas' Anglican Church, Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State, in memory of his late mother.
  • Donation of a Public Library to his community, Ikare.
  • Stella Latunde Foundation, in memory of his late wife.
  • Scholarship and bursary awards to indigent Students.
  • Patrons of many social clubs and religious societies.

His contributions to his communities in particular and the nation in general have not gone unnoticed. He is a recipient of many honours and awards, which includes:-

  • St Paul's Anglican Church, Ishagatedo, Isolo, Lagos, Individual Family Harvest 2003 Award.
  • National Union of Akoko Students Award of Fellowship.
  • Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria (UNIFECS) 2000 foremost Nigerians Award.
  • Corporate Press Services, Outstanding Achievement in Business Industry & Contribution to the Growth and Development of Nigeria.
  • Apostles of Peace, St. Paul's Anglican Church, Ishagatedo, Isolo, Lagos, Year 2002 Peace Award.
