Company Overview

Global Biofuels Ltd. (RC 679588), a subsidiary of NeGSt Global Integrated Co. Ltd., is implementing a project to convert the juice from the stalk of sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L) Moench) to ethanol. The initiative is the product of research on sorghum cultivars by the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) with HQ in India. Sweet sorghum is similar to grain sorghum with sugar-rich stalks.

The Company presently pioneering Nigeria’s entrance into the Renewable Energy Sector of the economy. The Company, is working with the NNPC, seven (7) state governments, the European Economic Development Council (EEDC) and the Canadian Development Corporation (CDC) to establish seven (7) 200 KLPD fuel ethanol refineries in various parts of Nigeria. Each refinery together with the associated farm for feedstock production will directly employ 8,000 Nigerians in additions to creating 40,000 indirect jobs.

The Company has been working with the International Crop Research Institute for the Semi Arid Tropics(ICRISAT) of India (www.icrisat.org), the Institute of Agricultural Research, ABU Samaru, Zaria, and Praj International Ltd (www.praj.net) also of India to propagate the use of sweet sorghum as the most promising feedstock for the commercial production of fuel ethanol.

Otunba S.A Oladunni (Director)

 

He is a graduate of Economics from University of Ibadan and Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) from University of Calabar

He started his professional career in Personnel Management and Administration in 1972 with Exxon Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited as Personnel Assistant. He worked in several units and departments including Personnel Administration, Compensation & Benefits, Human Resource & Services, Employee Relations and Administration. He distinguished himself in the company and rose to become the Executive Director, Administration (first Nigerian to be appointed to this position) in 1987. He retired as the Executive Vice Chairman in 2001.

An astute and experienced administrator, he led Exxon Mobil for a 20-year unprecedented industrial peace and harmony and also provided leadership to manpower and human capital development and the nigerianisation of key positions in the oil industry. He led the oil industry employers in the resolution of industrial action by PENGASSAN in Nov/Dec 2000, which prevented a major crisis in the Nigerian Oil Industry.

He also played a key role in the safety, security and health of the oil industry and also provided the blue print on housing that resulted in the home ownership scheme policy for employees in the oil industry in Nigeria. In 1998, he wrote a book on Issues in Corporate and Human Resources Management in the Oil Industry. He has written and presented several papers at different forum world wide on human resource management.

Otunba Oladunni is widely traveled and has attended so many courses and several management meetings in UK, Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Japan, korea, Canada and USA.

He has held several key positions in the past such as the President, Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria; Chairman, Oil Explorers & Producers Trade Group; Chairman, Petroleum and Natural Gas Employers Association and Member, Governing Council of Nigeria Employers Consultative Association, (NECA). Otunba Felix B. Obada, Ph.D (Managing Director/CEO)

Dr Obada is the Founder, Chief Promoter, Prime Mover, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive of Global Biofuels Ltd. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Materials Management from Pacific Western University, Los Angeles, USA.

Otunba started his professional engineering career at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in 1977 and retired in 1995 as a Chief Engineer and Visiting Consultant in the Corporate Planning Department of the company. He later became the pioneer Director-General of the Materials Management Institute of Nigeria between 1996 and 1998 and served as a Consultant to the University of Surrey Space Centre, United Kingdom, between 2000 and 2003.

Among his accomplishments, Dr. Obada successfully engineered the entrance of Nigeria into the space age by facilitating the design and launch of Nigeria’s first Satellite (NigeriaSat-1) working with the University of Surrey and the Federal Ministry of Science & Technology.

In September 2003, Dr. Obada again pioneered the creation of the National eGovernment initiative as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the Federal Government and the Organized Private Sector (OPS) mandated by the Federal Government of Nigeria to implement the eGovernment project to cover all Federal, State and Local Government Areas of Nigeria. He was appointed the Managing Director of NeGSt in March 2004.

A consummate strategist, Dr. Obada aggressively grew the eGovernment initiative and created several Strategic Business Units (SBUs) under NeGSt Global after acquiring the Trademark of ‘NeGSt’ together with its products from the Federal Ministry of Commerce under the Trade Mark Act of 1956.

Dr. Obada is a Fellow of many professional associations namlely:

Is a seasoned research Scientist and International agricultural development Consultant. Born in January 1944 at Obalande, Lagos. He holds a Bachelors degree in Botany (University of Ibadan, Nigeria, in 1968), Masters and Ph. D. degrees in Plant Breeding and Genetics (Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, USA, in 1971 and 1977 respectively).

Born in july 1947 at Agbaluku-Arigidi Akoko, Ondo state. After,secondary modern school in 1959 he attended Atamakoloni Institute of Technolgy, Warri and obtained Diploma in Automobile Engineering, 1966. Had a two years working experince with the then Western Nigerian Ministry of works & Transport, Eleiyele, Ibadan. He was enlisted into the Nigerian Army in 1967.

He attended African Church Teachers Training College Ifako, Agege and passed with a grade II Teacher certificate, 1976 - 1979. He attended Federal College of Education, Pankshin, Plateau State and obtained National Certificate in Educaton in Agriculture in 1983. He had six months Training in crop production from School of Agriculture, Ilorin in 1985.

He attended Young Officers course, Nigerian Army School of Education, Ilorin and Executive Officers' Course III School of Infantary, Jaji. He obtained Diploma in Curriculum Development from Nigerian Army School of Education, Ilorin.

He was appointed into various offices as follows:- Staff Officer II,9 Mechanical Brigade N.A. Ikeja, Lagos. Administrative Officer, Command Secondary School, Kaduna 1991 -1994.
